The Augusta University community is encouraged to participate in this year’s Paceline bicycle ride on October 16.
Since 2019, the Paceline organization has hosted this ride as a way to engage the Augusta community in the fight to end cancer. As part of the event, riders are asked to raise money for the Georgia Cancer Center, which supports both laboratory research and patient care for various forms of cancer.
Paceline has a place for everyone, offering bike routes for all skill levels and opportunities to get involved without having to ride a bike, such as donating or volunteering.
The ride has dedicated traffic control measures in place and refreshment rest stops along the way. Riders have three routes to choose from: 25 miles, 50 miles or 100 miles. The 50- and 100-mile rides begin on Augusta University’s historic Summerville Campus, while the 25-mile ride begins at Harlem High School. All three routes finish at the Columbia County Amphitheater in Evans.
For more information about how Paceline and the Georgia Cancer Center support the community, read about last year’s virtual Paceline or hear Dr. Ravindra Kolhe explain the importance of community-based funding.
Visit the Paceline website for registration information. For direct support, email Cayla Long or call 843-318-4754.
