Welcome to OncLive On Air®! I’m your host today, Jax DiEugenio.

In both digital and print formats, OncLive covers every angle of oncology practice, from new technology to treatment advances to important regulatory decisions.

In today’s episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Martin F. Dietrich, MD, PhD, and Michelle Shiller, DO, about reflex testing in oncology. Dr Dietrich is a medical oncologist at Cancer Care Centers of Brevard, The US Oncology Network, in Space Coast, Florida, as well as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando. Dr Shiller is a cancer liaison physician, the medical director of Genetics, and an assistant medical director at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas, as well as the medical director of Genomics and Molecular Pathology Services at PathGroup.

In our exclusive interview, Drs Dietrich and Shiller discussed the importance of reflex testing in lung cancer and other malignancies, how they incorporate this type of testing into their oncology practice, and how collaboration between medical oncologists and pathologists contributes to successful reflex testing to improve patient outcomes.
