Dr. Gandara Spotlights the Giants of Cancer Care

David R. Gandara, MD, Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Director, Thoracic Oncology Program, Associate Director, Clinical Research, UC Davis Cancer Center, discusses the 2013 recipient of the Giants of Cancer Care award in the field of thoracic oncology: Thomas J. Lynch, Jr., MD.

Lynch is well known across the United States as a leader in the field of thoracic oncology, Gandara notes. He is best known for leading the team that pioneered molecular testing for EGFR mutations in lung cancer. Lynch currently serves as the director of the Yale Cancer Center, where he is building an extraordinary lung cancer research team, Gandara adds.
