The integration of minimally invasive surgery into the treatment paradigm of endometrial cancer has significantly decreased postoperative healing time for patients, Vaidya says. Additionally, patient testimonials, as well as clinical data, have demonstrated that minimally invasive surgery decreases postoperative pain, decreases time spent in the hospital, and shortens recovery time overall.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy has also been a significant advancement in the field of endometrial cancer. Long-term data are beginning to show decreased rates of lymphedema on the order of 5% vs 30% in patients who underwent sentinel lymph node identification, Vaidya concludes.
