Electra D. Paskett, PhD, Professor, College of Medicine, The Ohio State University, discusses the use of vinegar as a cervical cancer screening tool in the U.S.

In the U.S., this method of screening for cervical cancer would only be relevant for those who do not have access to pap testing or those who are at risk for failure to follow up.

In one study, Paskett says that data show that less than half of the women with an abnormal pap test follow up on time or with the appropriate treatment. Paskett says that testing with vinegar could be an alternative strategy for the group of patients that do not show up or seek adequate treatment.
